About UsThe mission of the Kinnelon Public Library is to provide equitable access to information, technology and cultural enrichment while promoting literacy, learning and community engagement.
Position OverviewThe Tween-Teen & Emerging Technologies Librarian will provide library services and programming for tweens and teens as well as play a leading role in keeping the library, staff and public digitally literate with respect to emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Strengthen connections with and assess the informational and educational needs of Kinnelon tweens-teens and schools
- Plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate in-person and virtual programs, clubs, workshops and special events that meet the interests and needs of tweens-teens in the community
- Recommend and implement new services, resources and materials that would benefit tweens-teens.
- Evaluate and recommend digital services and tools for library patrons and staff
- Lead the development, instruction and community outreach of technology programs and equipment for all age groups
- Will be the main liaison between the library and main technological support
- MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited school or currently enrolled as a student in an MLS/MLIS program and eligible for a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate
- Previous experience working in a public library or equivalent service oriented environment particularly with tweens-teens
- Experience in setting up, maintaining, troubleshooting, and training others in nontraditional and emerging technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as superior customer service skills
- Ability to think creatively, innovatively, strategically and proactively
This is a full time position.
SalaryStarting salary range of $58,000 - $62,000 depending on experience.
