- Wellingborough Quest Employment are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a fast-paced warehousing and logistics operation based in Wellingborough. This is a hands-on, operational HR role suited to someone who enjoys being visible within the business, supporting managers directly and dealing with real people matters in a busy shift-based environment. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day HR support across warehousing and logistics, managing employee relations cases, supporting managers, driving engagement and ensuring HR processes are followed fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment legislation.

This role would suit an experienced HR Manager, HR Business Partner, People Manager or strong HR Advisor ready for the next step, ideally with experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, FMCG or another operational environment.

The Role As HR Manager, your duties may include:
Providing day-to-day HR advice and support to warehouse managers, supervisors and shift leaders Managing employee relations cases from initial investigation through to hearings and outcomes Supporting managers with absence, disciplinaries, grievances, performance and capability matters Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries from employees and managers Building strong working relationships across warehouse and logistics teams Providing visible, hands-on HR support within an operational warehouse environment Supporting workforce planning, onboarding and peak-period recruitment Advising managers on overtime, agency usage, shift changes and labour planning Ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently across teams and shifts Maintaining accurate employee records and supporting HR audits and compliance reporting Monitoring absence and attendance trends Supporting return-to-work processes, long-term absence cases, occupational health referrals and reasonable adjustments Supporting permanent, temporary and agency recruitment campaigns Assisting with interviews, inductions and probation reviews Liaising with recruitment agencies regarding compliance, cost control and performance Supporting employee engagement initiatives, communication forums and site briefings Contributing to HR projects, policy updates, engagement surveys and system improvements Using HR data to identify trends and make practical recommendations Supporting organisational change, restructures and TUPE processes where required

What Were Looking For We are looking for candidates who:
Have proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, People Manager or experienced HR Advisor Have experience within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, FMCG or a similar operational environment Have strong employee relations experience Are confident advising managers on disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance and capability Have strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Can manage multiple HR cases at the same time Are confident challenging managers constructively when required Are comfortable being visible on the warehouse floor and working closely with operational teams Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Are organised, resilient, practical and solutions-focused Can work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment Are commercially aware and able to balance people, compliance and operational needs
