Position OverviewThe Senior Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing multiple maintenance teams and ensuring all aircraft maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA and Fly Exclusive requirements. This leadership position provides advanced technical guidance, manages workflow across shifts or project groups, and supports the planning and execution of complex maintenance activities.
The Senior Crew Lead acts as the primary support to Supervisors and Maintenance Leadership, ensuring quality, productivity, and communication standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Oversight- Lead, mentor, and supervise multiple crews of aircraft maintenance technicians.
- Assign labor resources across projects while balancing workload, timelines, and priorities.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to Crew Leads and technicians.
- Conduct shift-start briefings, mid‑shift updates, and end‑of‑shift reporting.
- Oversee complex inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and aircraft modifications.
- Serve as a technical expert for Crew Leads, offering hands‑on support when needed.
- Ensure work is performed per AMM, SRM, engineering instructions, and regulatory standards.
- Validate work completion, documentation accuracy, and readiness for Quality inspection.
- Coordinate closely with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Parts/Logistics teams.
- Communicate aircraft status, staffing needs, and potential bottlenecks to leadership.
- Support maintenance scheduling, workflow planning, and project milestone tracking.
- Assist with workforce allocation between hangar work, line maintenance, and special projects.
- Enforce all safety protocols, human factors principles, and FOD prevention standards.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, equipment, and calibrated devices.
- Support internal audits, QA findings, and corrective action implementation.
- Maintain compliance with FAA Part 135/145 standards.
- Review technician and Crew Lead documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare shift reports, delay summaries, and aircraft status updates for leadership.
- Ensure timely communication of any issues affecting return‑to‑service schedules.
- 7+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, including prior leadership or crew lead role.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A'P) Certificate required.
- Strong background in troubleshooting, repair, and aircraft systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems and digital workflow tools.
