Nursing Assistant - PM shift

The NAI is responsible for administering direct patient care and performing other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient care, under the direction and supervision of a professional nurse. The NAI performs duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, moving patients, or changing linens.

• Provide direct patient care services to patients and families.
• Conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner that projects a positive image of the department and hospital.
• Ensure contacts with other health care members are friendly, helpful, and courteous.
• Maintain proper hygiene and patient comfort procedures.

• Education:
  
  High school graduate or equivalent.
• Professional
  
  Experience:
  
  None required.
• Licensure/Registration:
  Certified by the N.C. Department of Facility Services as a NAI. BCLS Certification.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  Good interpersonal, communication, and observation skills; understanding of patient care needs according to developmental stages for various age groups.
• Work Environment:
  Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, and other infectious diseases requiring protective equipment; exposure to other hazards such as radiation, toxic waste, chemicals, fumes, noxious odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Standing, sitting, walking, and working throughout the shift; lifting, pulling, turning, and pushing patients daily; ability to use appropriate Safe‑Patient Handling equipment; visual acuity, auditory and verbal skills necessary; stressful work periods and rotating shifts.
