Summary- The ED Nurse Navigator functions on the multidisciplinary team serving as a liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding ED patient post‑discharge care.
- The ED Nurse Navigator possesses excellent communication skills providing effective compassionate care.
- Coordinates patient care and patient experience through follow‑up with ED patients regarding outstanding diagnostic testing, patient feedback and patient callbacks.
- The ED Nurse Navigator assists post‑discharge patients by offering navigation of care and community resources to provide continuum of care and prevent unnecessary patient revisits to the ED.
- The ED Nurse Navigator effectively collaborates with the patient, family, and members of the emergency department healthcare team.
- The ED Nurse Navigator serves as an advocate and educator for ED patients post‑discharge.
- Serves as an ED resource to facilitate communication across all aspects of the patient care experience.
- Demonstrates competency as an ED RN to provide clinical support patient care in the ED.
Current and unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) through the NCBON.
Experience RequirementsMinimum (3) years working as an Emergency Department Nurse.
Certification Education Requirements- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 6 months of hire date.

Hours of WorkMonday: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Tuesday - Friday: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
Exposure to blood borne pathogens requiring the use of protective equipment; exposure to other infectious diseases. Exposure to environmental extremes.
Physical RequirementsAbility to push stretcher and other patient‑carrying devices with patient.
