Location: Kirkby in Ashfield
The Role
We’re hiring a Logistics Team Leader for a busy manufacturing and distribution site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. You’ll work with the Warehouse Manager and another Team Leader to keep delivery prep, fleet operations, picking, storage and compliance running smoothly.
Perfect for someone hands-on, computer-literate and ready to develop. Full training provided on internal systems.
Hours
* Mon–Thu: 07:00–15:30
* Fri: 07:00–14:30
* Extra hours when needed to load carriers and vans for next-day routes.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivery Preparation:
Package and secure goods to ADR standards, ensure clean and safe loading, complete delivery/collection paperwork accurately.
* Fleet Support:
Assist with route planning, Fleetmatic reports, daily vehicle checks, MOTs, servicing, breakdowns and driver hours/manifests.
* Carrier Management:
Book deliveries, declare consignments correctly, manage labelling, support damage claims and resolve transport queries.
* Compliance:
Follow DGSA rules for loading, securing, packaging and documentation. Support ISO
9001, ISO
14001 and environmental processes.
* Order Picking & Despatch:
Oversee picking accuracy, packing quality, delivery note checks, returns processing and communication with production.
* Finished Goods Storage:
Support weekly stock checks, rotation, call-off stock, reorder levels and safe storage standards.
* Customer Service Support:
Help resolve order queries, delivery issues and contribute to complaint investigations.
* Health & Safety:
Maintain high H&S standards, complete FLT checks, enforce safe working practices and strong housekeeping.
What You Need
* Computer literate – able to learn internal systems
* Experience in logistics/warehouse operations
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Proactive, hardworking and keen to develop
* ADR/DGSA understanding (training provided)
* FLT licence preferred – critical to the role
