Retail Assistant – Part Time, Evenings & Weekends

Location: Kirkby-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Hours: 12 hours across 2 days per week (minimum 12 hours over 2 days from 7 each week), including weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Pay: £10.95–£12.81 per hour (depends on age: 16‑20: £10.95; 21+: £12.81).

Responsibilities:

• Make customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and hello
• Help customers locate items
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offer assistance in packing, and leave a good impression with a thank you and goodbye
• Handle stock with care during deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and on shelves
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean, and tidy

• Friendly, positive, and hard‑working approach to work
• Enjoy being busy – be prepared to jump between deliveries, till duties, customer assistance, cleaning, and stock rotation
• Reliability: dependable and a valuable part of a small team
• Flexibility with shift changes as required by rota planning (planned three weeks in advance)
• Successful employment verification checks (confirmer of previous employment history via HMRC)
