Contract:Fixed Term Funded to 31 January 2030. With the Potential to be Extended to 31 January 2032.
Term: Full Time.
Salary: £27,391 p.a. – £30,103 p.a. – MYA Grade 5 Pt. 17-20.
Hours per week: 35 per week (May Include Evening and Weekend Work).
Reporting to: Line Manager.
Location: Knowsley.

Job Overview

MYA requires an experienced, committed, and innovative Detached Youth Work Team Leader who brings creativity, energy, and strong youth engagement skills to supporting young people’s development.

The post holder will lead a small team of detached youth workers to engage and build respectful, honest, challenging, and supportive relationships with young people including those who may previously have had little contact with services and may be hard to reach.

The role will include the co-ordination of planning for co-designed programmes developed with and for young people who present with complex issues and behaviours which may include anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, offending and significant risk taking.

These innovative programmes of detached and outreach youth work will meet the needs of children, young people and families, facilitating the development of physical health, emotional well-being, supporting educational attainment, and preventing/reducing youth crime.

The post holder must hold relevant qualification to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a subject related to young people.
