Contract:

Full-time, Long-Term Supply (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, Term-Time Only) Pay: £110 per day

Start Date:

September 2026 A specialist SEND school in Knowsley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September 2026. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and speech and communication difficulties.

The setting is committed to creating a nurturing, structured, and highly supportive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with ASC, SEMH, and communication needs within a structured environment
  • Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or other AAC methods
  • Assist pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs, behaviour plans, and therapeutic strategies
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes for pupils
Ideal Candidate
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with ASC, SEMH, or complex additional needs
  • Be calm, resilient, proactive, and nurturing in their approach
  • Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Have full‑time availability and the right to work in the UK
