Year 6 Teaching Assistant - September 2026

About the Role

Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school located in Huyton (L36), which is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic temporary Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This Year 6 Teaching Assistant is a full-time, long-term temporary role supporting children in the Year 6 class, with a particular focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role is Monday to Friday, and the working hours are 08:00am-15:00pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher and work collaboratively with support staff
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for SEND pupils
  • Promote a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Help pupils stay on task and achieve their learning goals
Requirements
  • KS2 and SEND experience (desirable)
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Recent and relevant experience working with children within the past two years
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
