Pay-Rate | £14.25 - £15.50 per hour (DOE)
Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with this lovely welcoming primary school in the L32 area, who are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is a long-term opportunity, supporting pupils with additional needs either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups (1:2 support). The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, regulate behaviour and thrive within a structured and nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND
- Support children with a range of needs including:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
- Challenging behaviour
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Implement EHCP targets and personalised support strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Encourage independence, engagement and confidence in pupils
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff
The school is looking for a proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant who:
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEND (essential)
- Has worked with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH or behavioural needs
- Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant education-based qualification (desirable)
- Has experience working 1:1 or with small intervention groups
- Demonstrates strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Is patient, resilient and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Works well as part of a team and uses their own initiative
