Maintenance Assistant​/Driver

Overview

Join Crossley Place in Prescot as a Maintenance Assistant/Driver where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant/Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the service's facilities are fit for purpose, driving staff and service users to local destinations, gardening, and regularly conducting audits to identify and repair faults to ensure a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors. Working alongside an established team, you will undertake a range of maintenance tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

• Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance
• Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings
• Assisting in all decorating
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects
• Participating in a 1 week retain on-call rota for emergency maintenance
• Coordinating and supporting contractors on site and completing all paperwork and tool checks
• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean internally and externally
• Monitoring and reporting when vehicle maintenance is due

• To comply with systems and procedures
• Hold a UK driver’s licence
• Have previous experience within a maintenance role
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure high-quality service
• Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings

Location:

Crossley Place, Mill Ln, Prescot L35 6N. You will be working at Crossley Manor, a modernised low secure service that supports women over 18 with complex emotional and mental health conditions which are associated with significant risk behaviours. You will join a small team committed to empowering recovery and independence within a residential environment, consisting of two apartments. Crossley Manor delivers 24-hour care and is within easy reach of the M62 and national rail networks.
