We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a growing manufacturing facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, hands‑on mechanical engineer to join a developing production environment, where you will play an important role in maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement.
The RoleAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of industrial production equipment and site services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out effective repairs.
- Maintaining and repairing pumps, gearboxes, motors, agitators, valves and associated equipment.
- Working on mechanical drives, bearings, seals and rotating equipment.
- Maintenance and installation of industrial pipework and associated fittings.
- Welding, fabrication and general mechanical fitting.
- Working on industrial utilities including steam boilers and compressed-air systems.
- Supporting equipment installation, modifications and improvement projects.
- Identifying recurring equipment failures and recommending improvements.
- Working alongside production teams to minimise equipment downtime.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with site health, safety, quality and hygiene procedures.
- At least 3 years' experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within an industrial, manufacturing, food, chemical or process environment.
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience maintaining pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves and rotating equipment.
- Experience with welding, fabrication and industrial pipework.
- Good knowledge of health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
