Overview
Permanent - Part Time, 30 hours per week. The post holder will carry professional, clinical and educational responsibilities for the provision of patient services in the Gynaecology Speciality Clinics. The post holder will be expected to have willingness to train to work within areas of the Gynaecology Clinics and will be able to work independently once training is completed with their own patient case load.
They will deliver clinical diagnostic tests and perform treatments.
The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change. To ensure fulfilment of the requirements for professional updating and maintain a personal record for future registration purposes.
Responsibilities- Deliver clinical diagnostic tests and perform treatments.
- Work within and monitor standards of care within the defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the unit to ensure delivery of high quality service.
- Ensure effective communication processes to meet the needs of patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team members.
- Propose and develop evidence-based policies/procedures and working practices within the clinical area and ensure implementation.
- Set a high standard of record keeping regarding patient care that is comprehensive, concise, valid and audited regularly.
- Implement strategies which enable quality targets to be met using recognised audit tools.
- Provide clinical and professional advice to other medical and nursing staff within the gynaecology unit ensuring education needs of patients and staff are met.
- Take responsibility for own education and knowledge within the chosen speciality.
- Provide a diagnostic and treatment service for women with suspected or confirmed Gynaecological malignancy and manage these patients accordingly.
- Practice within national/local guidelines and protocols.
- Hold appropriate professional registration in Gynaecology.
- Willingness to train and ability to work independently after training.
- Knowledge of and compliance with national/local guidelines and protocols.
- DBS check required; applicant will pay costs. Enrolment for the DBS Update Service is encouraged (annual fee £13).

- Maintain a personal record for future registration and professional updating.
