Research Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate
We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join Dr Olorunniji's team based at the LJMU School of Pharmacy & Biomolecular Sciences to support the delivery of a 12‑month project to investigate the interaction of large serine integrases and their directionality factors in regulating phage integration and excision.
Responsibilities- Plan, design and execute the research programme, including preparation of project reports and drafting academic publications.
- Collaborate with the Rice laboratory (University of Chicago) in the preparation of scientific reports and manuscripts.
- Participate in selected meetings and conferences and maintain regular communication with the Rice lab.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of research outcomes as part of the project team.
- Practical knowledge and research experience in molecular biology and/or nucleic acid biochemistry essential.
- Experience working with large serine integrases highly desirable.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and systems.
- Effective communication, team‑working and problem‑solving skills required.
