Agency Social Worker – Child Protection Team
Location:
Knowsley
Rate: £30.00 per hour
Contract:
Agency | Full-Time
Apricus Resourcing is currently recruiting experienced Child Protection Social Workers to join a well-supported local authority that is expanding its workforce while permanent recruitment is underway.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a service that has been designed to promote high-quality practice, manageable workloads, and genuine work-life balance.
Why Join?
Unlike many Child Protection teams, this service operates a structured 1 in 8-week duty rota, meaning you spend only one week on duty before returning to seven protected weeks focused on direct work with children and families.
During your duty week, you will:
* Manage new allocations.
* Progress cases through to the first court hearing.
* Transfer proceedings after the first hearing, meaning you won't carry ongoing court work.
For the remaining seven weeks, you'll have dedicated time to:
* Complete high-quality assessments.
* Build meaningful relationships with children and families.
* Deliver effective Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) interventions.
* Focus on safeguarding without the pressure of continuous duty commitments.
What You Can Expect
* £30.00/h
* Manageable caseloads
* Strong senior management oversight
* Extensive day-to-day support from the Partnership & Improvement Team
* Comprehensive training and continuous professional development through the Workforce Development Team
* Free parking
* A supportive and collaborative team environment focused on quality practice and staff wellbeing
Requirements
To be considered, you will have:
* Social Work England registration
* Experience working within Children's Social Care, ideally in Child Protection, CIN or Safeguarding
* Strong assessment, safeguarding and care planning skills
* The ability to manage a varied caseload while delivering positive outcomes for children and families
If you meet the person criteria please feel free to apply directly or contact the office directly on (phone number removed)
