I am working with a leading Professional Services company that are looking to hire two exceptional Business Development Director - Public Sector to shape and secure some of the most exciting opportunities across the public sector marketplace.
About the RoleAs a Business Development Director, you will own and deliver a portfolio of new business, new scope and competitive rebid opportunities
, working end‑to‑end through the Business Development Lifecycle. Your expertise will help them achieve ambitious IYR and TCV targets while expanding their reach across priority public sector markets.
You will play a pivotal role in developing compelling win strategies, building senior‑level relationships and leading multidisciplinary teams to secure highly complex, transformational deals.
Key Responsibilities- Drive a pipeline of high‑value opportunities, from prospecting through to closure, delivering consistent profitable growth.
- Build, execute and communicate robust win strategies to secure major new business and complex rebid opportunities.
- Identify and share cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across the full propositions suite.
- Lead Capture Plans and ensure all opportunities meet commercial, operational and architectural governance standards.
- Partner closely across Business Development, Market Development, Win Centres and Account Management to ensure seamless opportunity progression.
- Lead multi‑disciplinary teams through the full bid/ITT cycle for complex non‑priority deals.
- Act as a trusted voice of the customer throughout solution development and deal shaping.
- Deep knowledge of public sector procurement
, policy environments and decision‑making structures. - A strong external network and proven track record of winning complex, high‑value public sector contracts.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, able to influence senior executives and excite clients with compelling solutions.
- Commercial acumen and strategic thinking across 36‑month+ planning horizons.
- A self‑starter mindset — skilled at generating, nurturing and closing deals from white space.
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
