Business Development Manager - CDMO
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join a leading pharmaceutical services provider that specialises in drug development and commercial manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused professional with a deep technical understanding of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle to contribute to our client’s growth within the UK, EU, and North American markets. As the Business Development Manager you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by proactively identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
Working closely with internal technical teams, they will develop strong client relationships, understand market trends, and support strategic expansion of our client’s services.
Your duties as the Business Development Manager will be varied however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Drive revenue growth by proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities for development and manufacturing services.
- Lead client engagement from initial contact through to contract signing, including proposals, negotiations, and pricing discussions.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, supporting technical and project management teams for smooth onboarding and delivery.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, representing our client at industry events.
- As the Business Development Manager, you will contribute to leadership development through coaching and mentoring junior staff.
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Business Development Manager, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a scientific discipline (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences / chemistry / Pharmaceutical Development / Formulation or related).
- Strong technical background with ability to engage credibly with formulation and analytical development scientists, alongside a proven track record in business development within a CDMO, CMO, or CRO environment.
- Experience managing the full sales cycle and familiarity with GMP standards and regulatory requirements.
