Here at Atlas Copco Deeside, we are looking for a Joining Development Engineer to join the Fastner Technology Team, responsible for testing and developing fastening solutions that shape the future of industries like automotive.
Roles and responsibilities
- Delivering projects from concept through to launch in line with Atlas Copco’s lean-agile development process.
- Collaborate with global teams to identify opportunities, test new concepts, and co-develop customer-centric solutions.
- Investigate new materials, surface treatments, and process technologies to enhance product performance, quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to develop robust, scalable solutions for manufacturing, testing and application of fasteners and coatings.
- Promote a safe and sustainable working culture, following all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

You might have experience in:
- Manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical trades
- Lab work, quality control, or technical testing
- Research and development or data science
- Project delivery and technical reporting
You’ll thrive if you are:
- A clear communicator and team player
- Comfortable using IT tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Organised, proactive, and eager to learn new things
- Knowledge of materials science and high-precision industries
- Strong practical skills (e.g. with power tools or lab equipment)
