Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and rail infrastructure? Our client, a respected civil engineering business delivering key rail projects across Scotland, is looking for a talented Project Manager to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of significant rail projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive high‑quality project delivery within a collaborative and safety‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:Project Delivery & Planning
- Managing all civil engineering activities from initial enquiry through to project completion.
- Planning and sequencing works to ensure safe systems of work and adherence to HSQE requirements.
- Producing and maintaining detailed construction programmes using Microsoft Project.
- Maintaining project risk, efficiencies, and opportunities registers.
- Producing essential project documentation including CPP, QMP, EMP, WPP, and ensuring full compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Creating and maintaining site safety documentation, including inductions, task briefings, COSHH assessments, risk assessments, and ALO plans.
- Promoting Close Call reporting and supporting investigations where required.
- Leading, managing, and monitoring site personnel and visitors.
- Supporting tender processes and ensuring smooth project team handovers.
- Carrying out duties as CRE (Construction) in line with Network Rail standards.
- Acting as Responsible Manager in accordance with /L2/OHS/019.
- Maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Assisting with budgeting, commercial reviews, and collaborative working practices.
- Monitoring personnel working hours and supporting broader company objectives as required.
- PTS certification
- SMSTS qualification
Experience in site management, ideally within the rail or civil engineering sector - Experience working within collaborative project environments
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
- Permanent role with a well‑established engineering contractor
