What does the day of a Deputy Manager look like?
  • Support the Service Manager with key targets by promoting and practicing high standards of nursing care, and ensuring staff and shifts are supervised in a smooth manner.
  • Manage the home in the absence of the Service Manager.
  • Assist the Service Manager with the audit process to ensure that the service is compliant with regard to all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Service Manager with ER related matters (e.g. absence management and disciplinary hearings).
  • Oversee all aspects of medicine management and ensure the safe administration of medication in accordance with NMC Standards.
  • Ensure through clinical governance and leadership that the care, health and safety of all residents is effectively implemented.
  • Maintain records and paperwork including care plans and medication documentation.
  • Ensure that care quality standards are constantly achieved.

You must hold a current registration with the NMC and have a relevant nursing qualification.
