Position: Specialist Occupational Therapist (R1)

The Role

  • Manage own specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and person‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.
  • Provide day to day supervision for occupational therapy staff, support staff and students
  • Provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines
  • Duties may vary depending on the care group / clinical specialty / assigned area of work

What

we’ll need you to bring
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Educated to and operating at Degree Level
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
  • Evidence of Leadership skills to enable the day‑to‑day management of service delivery.
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
  • Excellent team‑working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others
  • Demonstrate ability to use own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
  • Car driver with full valid UK driving licence
It would be great if you also have
  • Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality
  • Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice and/or research skills
  • Sound knowledge of multi disciplinary and inter agency team working practices

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Service Department within NHS Lanarkshire.

The working pattern for this role Monday to Friday
