Maintenance Engineer

Monday to Friday (days only, 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm)

I am working with a well-established food manufacturing business, who are on the hunt for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You'll be based on their modern UK production facility, where they manufacture high-volume, high-quality food products, which is supplied to major retail, food service, and global customers.

They are seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join their Engineering team, covering a double days shift pattern Monday to Friday (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm). This is a hands‑on role providing reactive and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance support to production, ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

You will work across a wide range of food manufacturing equipment, contributing directly to plant performance, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Maintain plant and machinery to meet production requirements
• Respond quickly and efficiently to machinery breakdowns
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs
• Deliver a preventative maintenance programme to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
• Carry out machinery installations and modifications when required
• Work closely with production teams to support machine changeovers and settings
• Ensure all planned and preventative maintenance documentation is accurate and up to date
• Maintain engineering standards in line with company policies
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH, and relevant legislation
• Manage spares and stock control, including critical spares listings
• Participate in shift handovers and maintain audit‑ready standards at all times
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement

• Time‑served Electrical or Mechanical Engineer
• Strong fault‑finding and repair skills across electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience maintaining production and packaging machinery
• Full UK driving licence
• HNC or equivalent engineering qualification
• Previous experience within Food Manufacturing or FMCG
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and automated systems
• CMMS experience
