An exciting leadership and development opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Charge Nurse within Ward 52 at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Ward 52 is a busy, fast paced 24‑bedded surgical ward providing care to a wide range of surgical patients. The ward accepts patients from the Admissions Unit and cares for post operative patients, including those requiring surgical high dependency step down care. This environment offers excellent opportunities to develop advanced clinical and leadership skills within acute surgical nursing.
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic registered nurse with a strong interest in surgical nursing and a commitment to delivering high quality, person centred care in line with NHS Fife values of care and compassion, dignity and respect, openness, honesty and responsibility, quality and teamwork.
The successful applicant will demonstrate extensive experience in acute surgical nursing and evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development. As a Band 6 Charge Nurse, you will play a key leadership role, supporting the Senior Charge Nurse in the clinical and operational management of the ward. This includes supporting staff development, maintaining high standards of clinical governance, and contributing to quality improvement and service development initiatives.
You will be an effective role model with strong leadership and communication skills, able to support, motivate and develop the ward team while working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team. This post offers the opportunity to further develop leadership capability and contribute to the future direction of the service.
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly in line with Directorate service demands and will join a well motivated and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient care.
