We are looking for an experienced Head of Service to lead and develop our Cardio Respiratory service across NHS Fife. This senior role combines strategic leadership with advanced clinical practice, supporting a wide range of diagnostic services including Echocardiography, pacemaker clinics, exercise testing, ambulatory monitoring and respiratory testing.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day service operations across two acute hospital sites.
  • Manage and support a multidisciplinary team, including recruitment, training and appraisal.
  • Oversee service development, quality assurance, budgets, and procurement of specialist equipment.
  • Perform and report advanced cardiac investigations, including complex echocardiography, regional echo services, and pacemaker follow‑up.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audits and policy development.
Qualifications
  • RCCP registered with BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent experience.
  • Highly experienced (substantial experience at Advanced CCP level) in Echocardiography, pacemaker work, exercise testing and rhythm analysis.
  • Skilled in leadership, staff development and service improvement.
  • A strong communicator with excellent clinical judgement and autonomy.
  • Committed to high standards of care and ongoing professional development.
  • Requirement:
    Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
