Overview
Sport and leisure currently operate 5 state of the art indoor leisure sites across the borough, the facilities include four swimming pools, multi-functional fitness suites, sports halls, studios, and outdoor pitches. The service attracts over one million visitors a year. You will be based at The Parks Sports Centre as a Leisure Assistant.
You will be required to set up and take indoor and outdoor sports equipment, assist customers with enquires and ensure the building is kept to a high level of cleanliness. Your duties will also include promoting the positive image of North Tyneside Council, encouraging participation of our customers, maintain a high level of customer service and attend meetings when required.
A commitment to ongoing professional development is essential. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, provide an efficient and friendly service, be able to work as part of a team or on their own.

The position is casual working on as required basis. You will be required to work evenings and weekends. This post qualifies night time working allowance and weekend enhancements.
The salary is Grade 5, £26,403 - £27,254 per annum pro rata

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and an Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.
