Accounting Assistant, Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
Position Summary
The primary function of a Credit Assistant is the following:
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist with processing and verification of credit applications
- Solicit payment on overdue accounts
- Assist with posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions daily
- Assist with keeping records of all delinquent accounts, incomplete files, and credit risks
- Assist with verifying references to determine credit risk in customers
- Assist with applying for liens and monitoring the associated time cycles
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to three years of related work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated knowledge of credit‑related laws, procedures, practices, and managing customer accounts
- Must be a team player
- Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrate high integrity and attention to detail
- Ability to self‑manage, show initiative, and solve problems
- Communicate professionally with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain in a stationary position in an office environment approximately 80% of the time
- Frequent movement within the office to access files and office machinery
- Ability to operate basic office machinery
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
- Ability to problem‑solve and prioritize tasks
- Ability to manage stress related to deadlines and ongoing projects
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to receive and analyze information
- Ability to communicate solutions quickly when issues arise
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative

CompensationThe base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $22.50 to $28.65 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on factors including position, location, education, training, and/or experience.
