** Position Summary
** The primary function of a Credit Assistant is the following:
** Duties & Responsibilities
*** Assist with processing and verification of credit applications
* Solicit payment on overdue accounts
* Assist with posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions daily
* Assist with keeping records of all delinquent accounts, incomplete files, and credit risks
* Assist with verifying references to determine credit risk in customers
* Assist with applying for liens and monitoring the associated time cycles
** Basic Qualifications
*** High school diploma or GED required
* One to three years of related work experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Demonstrated knowledge of credit-related laws, procedures, practices, and managing customer accounts
** Core Competencies
*** Must be a team player
* Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
* Demonstrate high integrity and attention to detail
* Ability to self-manage, show initiative, and solve problems
* Communicate professionally with excellent verbal and written communication skills
** Physical Requirements
*** Ability to remain in a stationary position in an office environment approximately 80% of the time
* Frequent movement within the office to access files and office machinery
* Ability to operate basic office machinery
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management

*** Ability to problem-solve and prioritize tasks
* Ability to manage stress related to deadlines and ongoing projects
