Associate Fish Health Veterinarian role at Bimeda
Role SummaryYou will be at the forefront of fish medicine as an Aqua Tactics Veterinarian. In this role you will work alongside our experienced Veterinarian and have mentorship from Dr. Hugh Mitchell. This role allows the Associate Veterinarian to work with all fish species within North America with private producers, public hatcheries, and universities. It encompasses all aquaculture systems.
The Associate Veterinarian will support the aquaculture industry by improving fish health and providing veterinary services to all aquaculture types in North America.
You will manage clients, provide healthcare services and products, participate in wet lab and clinical field trials, specialize in fish vaccine development, and apply clinical follow‑up. This is one of the few clinical fish veterinary positions available in the country.
Key Role Specific Requirements- Provide licensed veterinary services to private and public clients throughout the US and Canada.
- Provide technical support in fish vaccines and other fish health tools, disease prevention and control, and help clients with production efficiency.
- Represent Aqua Tactics and Bimeda in industry meetings and professional associations.
- Participate and coordinate clinical trials.
- Develop trusted and valued relationships with new and existing clients.
- Assist in identifying needs among the client base for the products and services by working with Bimeda’s and Aqua Tactics’ R&D.
- Be able to travel extensively to meet with clients.
- Assist with marketing of Aqua Tactics and Aqua Tactics products and services.
- Help Aqua Tactics bring new vaccines and drugs to the market.
- DVM/VMD and eligible for USA State Veterinary licensure.
- Experience and interest in the fish health industry and aquaculture.
- Personable with ability to interact across cultures and levels.
- Ability to travel nationally regularly (50%).
- Strong verbal, presentation and writing skills in English.
- Proficiency in writing technical documents and translating technical information to a lay perspective.
- Excellent people‑management skills.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- USA driving license.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
- Ability to move 50 lbs, and bend, kneel, stand for prolonged periods.
- USDA Accreditation Category II.
- Experience in a fish health veterinary role.
- Knowledge of fish health diagnostics.
- Basic statistical knowledge for clinical trials.
- Business education or experience.
- Experience in vaccines and pharmaceutical products.
- Experience in herd health medicine or epidemiology.
