Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
Echodyne is seeking a Facilities Technician who will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility by performing maintenance, repair, and improvement work on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role helps ensure that utilities, production environments, and facility assets are well maintained to minimize downtime and keep manufacturing running smoothly.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Facility Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and compressed air.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility‑related equipment to reduce operational disruptions.
- Support maintenance of critical building utilities such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and water systems (as applicable).
- Complete work orders promptly and document repairs and parts used.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and inventory.
- Provide input on improvements to equipment and facility performance.
- Hang whiteboards and build desks.
- Equipment & Infrastructure Support
- Assist with upkeep of doors, docks, racking, material‑handling equipment, flooring, and structural components.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support equipment moves, line expansions, and facility modifications.
- Be flexible to cross‑train and support other teams from time to time.
- Safety & Compliance
- Serve as an active member of the Safety Committee.
- Assist with waste management and recycling programs as required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Participate in safety inspections, emergency response procedures, and facility audits.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
- Project & Vendor Coordination
- Assist in planning and execution of facility renovation or improvement projects.
- Escort and supervise contractors performing work on‑site when needed.
- Support installation and relocation of equipment or machinery.
- Communicate facility needs, risks, and repair updates to leadership.
- Other Duties
- Monitor building systems and respond to alerts.
- Perform groundskeeping, snow/leaf removal, and general facility upkeep as required.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for facility emergencies.
- May require occasional overtime, weekend, or on‑call work depending on operational needs.
- Maintain seating chart.
- Perform ergonomic assessments.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience using CMMS or other computer‑based maintenance work order systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in factory conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a safety‑focused mindset.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work across more than one building or location.
- Self‑directed with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Trade school or technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
