Platform Infrastructure Automation builds software that brings Service Now instances to life and manages their journey on our Clouds. We write software that works across tens of data centers and tens of thousands of servers around the world. Reliability and Performance are utmost important in everything we do. We use a combination of Java, JavaScript and Service Now platform to achieve this.

What you get to do in this role:

• Take a higher order problem and define it clearly and design a system to solve it.
• Partner with Product Owners, stakeholders, and engineers in building the solution.
• Inspire the engineers with your hands on approach and innovative solutions to solve the problem.
• Build high‑quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs.
• Identify opportunities to simplify existing systems and evolve them to become better.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite.
• Help us build scalable and reliable cloud computing solutions to support the rapid growth of our SaaS products.
• Solve tough technical challenges in a high energy, startup like environment with experienced industry leaders and with a highly collaborative team
• Design, implement, test, and deploy scalable Cloud Computing solutions as part of the Cloud development team

To be successful in this role you have:

• Ability to manage projects with material technical risk at a team level
• Good foundation in distributed systems with proven experience designing and architecting systems
• Experience building products and framework
• Excellent experience in object‑oriented design and backend programming (Java, JavaScript)
• Deep understanding of database technologies
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, object‑oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline
• Analytical and design skills
• Experience with agile development tools and practices.
• Prior experience in solving problems at systems level, ideally in a private or public Cloud environment.

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision‑making, or problem‑solving. This may include using AI‑powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI‑driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
• Experience in using AI Productivity tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, etc. is a plus or nice to have.
• 6+ years of software development experience with Java or similar OOP
• Background in developing scalable systems with the ability to leverage AI/ML insights to enhance products and platforms

• Experience developing in Golang (in addition to primary language expertise)
• Hands‑on knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
• Familiarity with modern cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code tools
