Description

We are currently seeking a Semi‑Senior Accountant to join our practice based in Honley on a full‑time basis (working hours to be discussed). This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with practice experience to join a supportive and growing team. The successful candidate will have experience preparing accounts and tax returns, along with strong client communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of accounts for limited companies
  • Preparation of accounts for sole traders
  • Corporation Tax returns
  • Self‑Assessment Tax returns (not essential – training will be provided)
  • Making tax digital for self‑employed (not essential – training will be provided)
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling balance sheet items
  • Bookkeeping duties
  • Producing management reports (not essential – training will be provided)
  • Liaising with clients on a regular basis
Key Requirements
  • AAT qualified or currently working towards AAT
  • A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
Additional Requirements
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with cloud‑based accounting software, particularly Xero (preferred but not essential – training will be provided)
