Public Protection Clerical Officer – Kirklees, Dewsbury. 1 permanent post, 37 hours per week.
We are seeking 1 full‑time Administrative clerk who would like to develop their skills and understanding in Public Protection to support the department and its clerical function, supporting a department committed to protecting the public by managing registered sex offenders in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide an administrative, analytical and research/intelligence support role, maintain and update all relevant computer systems.
- Record and maintain secure data for internal and external use onto various intelligence systems, ensuring the information is accurate and complies with current policy and practice.
- Request information and receive enquiries from internal and external sources to record and impact accurate relevant intelligence information, which complies with current legislation.
- Provide advice and offer support and assistance to vulnerable victims and witnesses involved in Public Protection cases.
- Share information in relation to Public Protection issues with statutory agencies, supporting the multi‑agency ethos.
- Undertake any other work as directed, including working at different locations to provide business continuity and enable the Unit as a whole to fulfil force‑wide needs.
- Pass management vetting.
- Good level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
- Ability to prioritise own workload on a daily basis.
- Proficiency in computer systems (e.g., Niche, Corvus, Storm, NICE, Word).
- Ability to pass the VISOR administrative course and PND users course.
- Commitment to 37 hours per week at Dewsbury.
- Flexibility to support the department as directed by Supervision.
- Ability to work at different locations to maintain business continuity.
- Applicants not resident in the UK for the last five years may be refused due to inability to conduct adequate vetting checks.
- Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:00.
