Role - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

SALARY- £40,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)

My client designs and manufactures equipment for Water industry. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Huddersfield on a permanent basis.

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Designing conveyors and other machinery in the Automation sector
• Liaising with manufacturing providers and clients
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects

• At least 5 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics would be beneficial
• A background in Water related industries would also be ideal - Specifically waste water
• 5+ years' experience with sheet metal design and manufacture
• Be proficient using 3D CAD software, they use Solid Works and AutoCAD
• Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient using MS Office
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
• Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
