Job Summary
The Student Trainee will support client services through supervised observation, active participation, and co-facilitation of program activities. This role plays a key part in the treatment process by assisting in the identification of client needs, challenges, and strengths, while promoting adherence to program guidelines. The Student Trainee will serve as a professional representative of the agency and a positive role model for clients.
Through job shadowing and hands-on experience, they will gain valuable insight into various roles and functions within the organization.
Uphold professional standards of conduct, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
Attend staff meetings, treatment team discussions, and training sessions assigned.
Maintain compliance with program policies and demonstrate behavior aligned with organizational expectations.
Assist in assessing client needs, challenges, and strengths to support the treatment process.
Document and report concerns related to client behavior or interactions.
Co-facilitate educational and recreational groups, offering guidance and support to clients.
Support the admission and orientation process, including taking vital signs, conducting safety searches, and collecting lab specimens when applicable.
Monitor client activities and document observations to ensure accountability and safety.
Stay informed on precautionary protocols and ensure accurate documentation.
Assist in screening and monitoring detoxification clients to support their safety and recovery (Adult Programs only).
Serve as a positive role model and provide encouragement throughout the client’s journey.
Engage in staff development opportunities and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the program.
