Position SummaryThe Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Community Living advances our mission by delivering compassionate, person‑centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. The DSP promotes choice, dignity, and inclusion, fosters skill development and community integration, and may provide additional behavioral or medical support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Integrate individuals by promoting community participation, supporting relationships, accessing resources, and engaging in recreational and community‑based programs per each Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Empower individuals by providing personalized physical and emotional support, maintaining a safe, clean home, and assisting with mobility, transfers, and adaptive device use.
- Aid with routine housekeeping: meal preparation, laundry, bed‑making, and equipment maintenance.
- Support health by administering medication, completing medication administration records, assisting with feeding, bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, mobility, and event attendance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through accurate documentation and adherence to agency and state guidelines.
- Promote a positive work culture with courteous communication, kindness, respect, and advocacy.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle.
- Reliable communication method.
- Completion of mandatory training: CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration (Med Aide), and Universal Precautions.

- Lift/transfer >50 lbs regularly; assist CPR where required.
- Ability to kneel, push, pull, and stand for extended periods per CPR guidelines.
- Repetitive lifting, bending, typing, and walking/standing as necessary.

ShiftsBased on needs:
Part‑Time I (0‑19 hrs), Part‑Time II (20‑29 hrs), Part‑Time III (30‑34 hrs).
Starting wage: $18.25 plus additional pay based on experience. Hours and rate are subject to change.
