ThePosition
This role provides an excellent opportunity to deliver a broad range of business, administrative and project support to the Head of Facilities and NPD Contract and the wider team.
Key Responsibilities- Providing administrative support, including arranging meetings, managing diaries and taking minutes
- Supporting contract and project work and helping to coordinate activities across the team
- Maintaining systems, databases and records to ensure information is accurate and up to date
- Acting as a point of contact for queries and liaising with internal teams and external partners
- Supporting the coordination of requests linked to the contract, including helpdesk activity
The role will involve working across a variety of tasks, requiring flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities.
The CandidateThe successful applicant will be a well‑organised individual with a proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will:
- Strong organisational skills
- Have good administrative and organisational skills
- Be confident using IT systems and working with data
- Have strong communication skills
- Be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate attention to detail and a professional approach
- Educated to a degree level in a relevant field such as Administration or equivalent relevant work experience.
This post will be based at The Balfour
The successful candidate will work:
Part Time 25 hours per week (5 hours per day Monday – Friday)
This post is Fixed‑Term for 12 months due to the substantive postholders return from Maternity Leave
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is Band 4 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
