Position
Clinical Education Facilitator – responsibility to lead delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based education for nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers across NHS Orkney, working in partnership with Robert Gordon University and Public Services Delivery Scotland, and overseeing the practice education team.
Responsibilities- Lead curriculum development, education governance, and quality assurance.
- Manage the practice education team and collaborate with primary and secondary care services to strengthen postgraduate learning.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and support workforce development.
- Maintain a positive, forward‑looking learning environment aligned with professional standards.
- Registered Nurse with Master’s level education.
- Postgraduate teaching qualification and strong record of clinical and academic professional development.
- Significant experience in education programme design, delivery, curriculum or workforce development.
- Experience in line management, budget oversight, and strategic leadership.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong digital capability.
- Understanding of education governance, research principles, and regulatory requirements of professional and statutory bodies.
Based at The Balfour. Full time, 36 hours per week. Permanent contract. Must live and remain a resident within the UK.
Benefits and SalarySalary is Band 8a. If residing on Orkney, an additional Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro‑rata per annum is provided.
