The role

You will support Heidi with day to day living, social activities, and building confidence within the local community. You will work as part of a small, close knit team providing consistent and reliable support. You will support Heidi to enjoy her interests including quiz shows, games involving numbers, visits to cafes, historical sites, local events and the library. You will help develop social skills and confidence in community settings at a pace that suits Heidi.

You will provide practical and emotional support to help Heidi live as independently as possible. You will follow person centred support plans and contribute to a safe and supportive home environment.

Working pattern

The role is based in Kirkwall and all support is within walking distance of local amenities. Shift patterns include 9am to 3pm, 9am to 9pm, and 9pm to 9am overnight support. Enable offers flexibility around contracted hours and shift patterns to support childcare and other commitments.

What we are looking for

A values driven approach and a genuine interest in supporting others. Good communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships. Reliability, patience and the ability to work as part of a small team. Confidence supporting someone in community settings. No previous care experience is required as full training and induction is provided. Female support worker only, in line with the individual’s support needs.
