The Position
As a Band 6 Specialist Generalist Podiatrist, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality podiatric care across a range of settings, including hospital clinics, community locations, and domiciliary visits.
  • Manage high-risk foot conditions and contribute to foot protection services.
  • Provide musculoskeletal (MSK) and general podiatry care.
  • Support active foot disease management, wound care, and preventative interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced podiatrists and the wider AHP team to deliver integrated, person-centred care.
  • Contribute to service development, digital innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.

The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and skilled professional who can bring expertise and enthusiasm to our team.

You will have:

  • HCPC registration as a podiatrist.
  • Substantial experience in general or specialist podiatry.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Orkney.

Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:This post will be based at The Balfour
The successful candidate will work Full Time 37 hours per week
This post is Fixed-Term/Secondment for 6 months to cover maternity leave
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.
