This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-quality vaccination service across Orkney. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for assessing, planning and implementing vaccination programmes in line with current public health guidance, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care is delivered across a variety of community settings. The role works collaboratively with community teams and partner services to promote equitable access to care, ensuring all population groups across Orkney can access vaccination services that meet their needs.

You will be a registered healthcare professional authorised to practice under Patient Group Directions (PGDs), with current registration with the relevant professional body, including the NMC, GPhC, HCPC, GDC or GOC. You will have relevant experience within your professional field and be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and clinical competence required to support the delivery of immunisation and vaccination programmes.

You will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills, enabling you to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and community services. You will be able to work flexibly, manage competing demands, and maintain high standards of care in a busy environment.

It is essential that the post holder has access to transport and if driving themselves, should hold a full driving licence. If by virtue of a disablement, an applicant has the qualifications to perform the post but cannot drive, then the possibility of adjustments to arrange transport will be considered.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is Band 5 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
