Assembly Process Lead

We’re looking for an Assembly Process Lead to help us continually improve our manufacturing processes. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with our teams to develop efficient, high-quality assembly and testing procedures. You'll also be involved in creating and updating documentation, testing new products, and ensuring we meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review product drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Support assembly supervisors with technical questions or challenges.
  • Ensure product testing requirements are met and review data for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams on design changes or waivers.
  • Help design new assembly cells and improve existing processes.
  • Develop and update work instructions and supplemental documentation.
  • Source or create specialized tools and automation solutions.
  • Ensure assembly procedures follow our quality standards.
  • Inspect product quality and recommend corrective actions if needed.
  • Keep assembly routings accurate and current.
  • Perform and support first article and pre-first article testing.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO and AS9100 standards.
  • Train personnel as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, or a 2–4-year degree in mechanics, physics, optics, or electronics.
  • Experience in process control or a supervisory role is a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and assembly/component drawings.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills—both within our team and when working with suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to evaluate different design and assembly options, and clearly communicate their pros and cons.
  • Proven multitasking and project management skills.
  • Experience with CAD modeling is helpful.
  • Capable of assisting in the development of assembly and testing fixtures.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations.
