Position: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – NVA General Practice

Join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at NVA General Practice.

We are a well-established, eight-doctor general practice known for delivering high-quality veterinary care with a personal touch. Our brand-new, state‑of‑the‑art facility supports a fun, positive, and collaborative work environment.

Schedule

This is a full‑time position (35–40 hours per week). We’re open Monday through Friday and every other Saturday. We believe in true work–life balance and offer flexible, consistent scheduling whenever possible.

Compensation

$18–$23 per hour
, based on experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures, ensuring safe and effective animal restraint
  • Perform pre‑physical tasks (weights, temperatures, histories, reason for visit)
  • Administer prescribed medications, vaccines, treatments, and assist with dental cleanings
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals following established safety protocols
  • Obtain and position radiographs
  • Monitor surgical patients during recovery
  • Run in‑house lab tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal analysis)
  • Provide emergency first aid and life‑saving support when needed
  • Prepare and label samples for laboratory testing
  • Maintain and sterilize equipment and instruments
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including IV catheter placement and clipping
  • Fill prescriptions and accurately label medications
  • Keep exam rooms and treatment areas clean and organized
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to ensure excellent patient care and client communication
