GENERAL FUNCTION

The Associate Optometrist is a leader in the organization, delivering the brand promise and experience while collaborating with teammates. They ensure all patients receive the highest quality optometric care by performing clinical protocols, maximizing results and practice growth through partnership with management and team members.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure executional excellence and winning results in partnership with management and store team.
  • Demonstrate commitment to exceed results through competency in KPI management and high accountability.
  • Ensure the brand is known as the leading optical provider within the community.
  • Operate as a stakeholder to all leaders within the organization and local market.
  • Place the patient/customer first and deliver excellent service.
  • Strive to exceed expectations on all KPIs.
  • Provide unsurpassed patient service through the following service process steps:
    • Address all patients/customers’ visual lifestyle needs.
    • Make eyewear recommendations based on patients/customers' needs.
    • Explain each step of the eye exam and listen carefully to patients/customers.
    • Utilize available tools and visual aids to summarize and ensure patients understand each aspect of their vision, eye health, and overall well‑being.
    • Communicate the need for annual eye exams and schedule appointments in TAB for their next eye exam.
    • Conduct all services in accordance with protocol and accepted standards of care.
  • Ensure all patients receive accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations.
  • Establish a positive doctor‑patient relationship.
  • Utilize and leverage all technology to deliver unsurpassed patient/customer experiences.
  • Ensure office systems are maintained.
  • Maintain state licensure in good standing and meet continuing education requirements.
  • Provide effective training and guidance to team members using company‑provided programs.
  • Deliver clear, motivating, and constructive feedback in a timely manner to all associates.
  • Create a positive culture linked to corporate culture; identify what motivates each individual and direct conversations and actions appropriately.
  • Encourage associate decision‑making at the level closest to the patient.
  • Maximize partnerships through leadership, participation, and involvement.
  • Take pride in the appearance of the office.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all associates and patients.
  • Lead by example.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctor of Optometry.
  • Commitment to quality patient care.
  • Knowledge of current optometric theory and technology.
  • Strong communicator and listener.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Solid organization skills.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first‑class total rewards package.
