Job Overview
Service Advisor at Cirrus Aircraft UK Ltd. The Service Advisor is the primary interface between the customers of the Factory Service Center and the facilities operations. This role is responsible for the continued upkeep and accuracy of the facility’s maintenance schedule, evaluates demand with facility capacity, and coordinates schedules to meet owner expectations and operational objectives. The Service Advisor builds work packages, including labor and required parts, for each service performed and serves as the primary contact for status communication related to scheduled and in‑process maintenance events.
Duties & Responsibilities- Primary contact for customer communication regarding scheduling aircraft for maintenance, modifications, and service bulletin compliance (airframe, avionics, engines).
- Coordinate with parts department to pre‑order required parts and service bulletin kits.
- Seek warranty and/or customer approvals prior to work.
- Escalate conditions or situations that may impact schedule or workflow.
- Maintain balance of shop capacity to input demand at facility and bay levels.
- Pre‑arrange outside services with suppliers to meet scheduled return to service targets.
- Develop cost estimates/invoices, including upselling optional Service Bulletins, and collect partial and final payments.
- Use Cirrus reference system to retrieve labor hours, parts cost, and other information for frequently quoted services, bulletins, and modifications.
- Keep current on revisions to inspection requirements, parts price changes, warranty status, FAR changes, and other data that could affect price quotes or customer downtime.
- Research customers’ aircraft maintenance history, additional requests, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and provide detailed schedule options with lead‑times and downtime so the customer can make an informed decision (includes all customer and demo aircraft).
- Maintain a weekly maintenance schedule (minimum two‑week window).
- Attend daily/weekly crew chief/supervisory meetings to discuss pre‑arranged services, parts/kit availability and factors influencing the customer’s due‑out schedule.
- Provide resource and scheduling input for special projects such as modifications and engineering issues.
- Familiarize with maintenance task requirements that could affect scope or the service center’s ability to work on a scheduled aircraft.
- Ensure customer is well informed of maintenance cost prior to service, obtain work scope approval, deposit and/or payment before aircraft departure.
- Support coordination and planning of scheduled aircraft maintenance visits.
- Maintain knowledge of established maintenance programs, proposal and sales processes, scheduling and capacity planning, and factors influencing aircraft visit span times and intricacies.
- Bachelor’s in Aviation Management or Aviation Maintenance Technologies and 4 years’ experience in aviation maintenance, OR 6 years’ combination of experience in scheduling or aircraft maintenance with knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, inspection programs and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- 2 years prior planning/scheduling experience working in a variable demand fixed capacity environment preferred.
- Project Management Professional certification preferred.
- Airframe & Powerplant license preferred.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple objectives, meet established deadlines and balance multiple projects and assignments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
