annual salary range: $36,086.21 – $46,699.80

your specific responsibilities

this position will rotate training phases of the transportation project management program within central office related to transportation projects and management of those projects.

maintenance phase: assists in the inspections of project sites and provides technical assistance to transportation projects and management of those projects related to field operations, warehouse, repair shops and maintenance systems.

construction phase: provides technical assistance to transportation projects and management of those projects related to the construction process and construction contract administration.

design phase: provides technical assistance of transportation projects of design, including roadway design, drainage design, and traffic design.

traffic operations phase: participates and assist in conducting studies of signing pavement marking, operations analysis, signalization and signal systems and highway safety related to transportation projects and the management of those projects.

survey & mapping phase: provides technical assistance in surveying tasks related to transportation projects in base line control, design survey and right of way survey.

planning and environmental management (plemo) phase: receives instruction and assists in technical planning tasks in transportation statistics, multi-modal transportation planning, florida department of transportation (fdot) five year plan, project evaluation and system planning, impact research, contamination assessment & mitigation, permitting and compliance, all apply to transportation projects and management of those projects.

materials phase: participates in testing procedures, research, and provides technical assistance in structural materials & research, field operations & certification, asphalt materials & research, pavement evaluation, soil materials & research, aggregate control and chemical materials & corrosion research for transportation projects and the management of those projects.

right of way phase: participates in drafting, legal description and right of way computations related to transportation projects.

structures: receives instruction and provides technical assistance in transportation projects and the management of those projects related to engineering tasks in bridge design, retaining walls, sign structures, box culverts, traffic signal structures, plan reviews and shop drawing reviews.

procurement/contracts/project finance/negotiations/budget & work program: contributes to the procurement and operation of transportation projects, including bid proposals, negotiations, reports, funding of projects, and budget allocation.

minimum qualifications
  • high school diploma or its equivalent.
