We deliver solutions and critical support primarily to federal government agencies. We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant with experience in the government contracting sector to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with all federal acquisition regulations.

Position Summary

The Accountant is a financial professional responsible for the company's financial health and compliance within the government contracting landscape. The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), as well as knowledge of Defense (DCAA & DCMA) finance‑related compliance requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute daily financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring strict adherence to government contract accounting principles.
  • Review and process payments made to clients, vendors, and other business partners.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports and forecasts, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and manage overhead rate structures, ensuring accurate allocation of indirect costs.
  • Review contracts, subcontracts, and modifications to validate funding and invoicing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other government accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the monthly and annual financial close processes and prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports for senior management.
  • Prepare for and support all internal and external audits and other financial inquiries and documentation requests.
  • Manage financial reporting for contract deliverables, including various monthly financial reports.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with project managers and department heads to align with corporate and contractual goals.
  • Utilize Quick Books Enterprise accounting software and other software to manage and track project costs and financials.
  • Mentor and supervise the finance and accounting support personnel, fostering professional development and a high‑performance culture.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for financial matters with government customers (e.g., DCMA, GSA), subcontractors, and external auditors.
  • Work closely with contracts and project management personnel to provide financial insights on project budgets, forecasts, and overall performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures, making strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Effectively communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and non‑financial stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Master’s degree (MBA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience:

    A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a government contracting environment in related positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Systems:
    High proficiency with Quick Books Enterprise is required with working knowledge of various other financial software.
  • Regulations:
    Knowledge of the FAR and DFARS with familiarity with DCAA and DCMA audit processes and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
