The Assistant Activities Manager supports the Activities Manager in overseeing all activities, entertainment, and guest engagement operations at the assigned resort. This role assists with staffing, scheduling, and supervising team members to ensure resort activities are executed successfully and guests have an exceptional experience. The Assistant Manager helps foster positive relationships with department heads, employees, and vendors, while focusing on team development, growth, and retention.
Maintaining high guest satisfaction and employee engagement scores is a key priority.
Must have full flexible availability (Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Support the Activities Manager in leading the Activities Team at the property.
- Assist in planning and hosting resort activities and entertainment programs.
- Help create revenue-generating opportunities and stay within budget guidelines.
- Maintain a cruise/theme park-style experience for guests.
- Promote interdepartmental engagement and collaboration.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance and career growth.
- Ensure professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- This role requires the ability to move and lift to 25 lbs. Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform are also required.
- 1–2 years of experience in social or recreational programs.
- Background in recreational hospitality, cruise ships, summer camps, or entertainment (e.g., DJ experience).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
- Experience hosting activities and operating AV equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- College degree in hospitality, recreation, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in recreational programs or resort operations.
- Ability to adapt quickly and adjust strategies based on guest trends.
