This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are seeking a skilled Technician in Integration Engineering who will leverage their technical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and efficient human spaceflight.

This role involves setting up production areas, operating precision tools, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to support our mission of safe space exploration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize any potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing.
  • Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) and precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.
  • Tasks involve preparing and testing payload systems and hardware by applying materials, conducting painting, sealing, composite layup, repairs, testing, and assisting with vehicle assembly and installation.
Team Focus & Domain Expertise:

The Test team at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components through cutting‑edge testing techniques. As a technician on this team, you will engage in component testing as well as structural testing using various methods and operate specialized equipment such as torque wrenches, particle counters, and mass spectrometers. Your expertise will be needed for complex test set ups that require multiple skills and processes like torque, safety wire, cable/harness routing, strain gauge installation, application of lubricants, thermocouple installation, accelerometers, and basic fabrication practices.

Through your work, adherence to standard practices and procedures will ensure high‑quality testing results.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another related field: (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ Level II Technician, 5+ Level III Technician).
  • Experience with pneumatic/fluids systems, hydraulics, electrical controls cabinet wiring, harness routing/management, data acquisition and/or networking systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
