Job Description
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and support Plasma Center operations, ensuring donor and employee safety, quality of collected plasma, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Determine donor eligibility, managing informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings requiring medical or technical guidance, donor safety, or eligibility decisions.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and decide on further evaluation by occupational health/ER per EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of an accredited nursing program with state licensure requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑specific basic IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Wage RangeUS hourly wage range: $31.92 – $43.89 per hour (established to reflect qualifications, experience, and local requirements).
